Trainer Biographys*

Marie Cox, MA, CPS. Marie Cox is the Interim Associate Director and Technology Transfer Coordinator for the Southwest Prevention Center and Southwest CAPT. Her experience facilitating groups to explore issues of diversity and inclusion includes work with professionals, non-profit organizations, volunteers, students, and educators. She is a certified trainer with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) and has authored several curricula, including the cultural competency module for the updated National Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training curriculum.

Wanda West, CPS. Ms. West is currently the Training and Logistics Coordinator for the Southwest Prevention Center's ATODA Prevention Training System. Previous to her work with the Training Center, she coordinated prevention in her community. She has been a long time advocate for prevention, beginning with her experience in the educational system and school and community-based violence prevention as a community liaison. Ms West is the elected co-chair of the Prevention Providers Advisory Group and an active member of other prevention groups within the state.
